Resources

In this technology age, there are a myriad of websites available, allowing patients to read about their medical conditions, and thus become advocates for their own health. However, the vast number of websites can lead to confusion, and at times be frustrating to navigate.

The following are websites we feel provide accurate information that we recommend. As always, if you have questions or concerns, please consult your physician.

healthychildren.org: This website is maintained by the American Academy of Pediatrics, and provides information on a wide range of aspects of children's health and development.

www.vaccine.chop.edu: This website has been established by the Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania, one of the premiere children's hospitals in the United States. This site specifically addresses concerns regarding immunizations.

www.cdc.gov: This website is managed by the Center for Disease Control, and contains information regarding multiple diseases and health conditions. This site also provides useful and important information for those traveling outside the United States.

www.uptodate.com/patients: This site provides detailed information regarding a variety of medical conditions. Some aspects of the website do require a subscription, but there is a large amount of high-quality free information available.
